Official practise day
The guys had to shoot this morning with us shooting the afternoon session.
I was looking forward to a sleep in, but half five I was awake and wondering what I should do next. So I got up and went to the lobby and checked in with the team at work, and then headed to breakfast before the mad rush. It's stephs dads birthday today, he's our coach, happy birthday David. We forgot to say it at brekkie, but don't worry we have said it now!
Had a lot of time to kill this morning so we jumped in a cab and headed to a shopping centre for a look. Jamie from USA came with us and it was nice to have a chance to get to know her better. We didn't know the shops don't open till ten, but we found Starbucks and headed there first. Wandered around the streets til the mall opened, watched some Chinese peole dancing in the streets, as you do, and looked at all nine floors of expensive, mostly imported goods. Jumped into another cab and headed to the oriental tv tower, where the apple store was supposed to be nearby. The sky was actually clear when we got there and we could see the top of the shanghai financial building, which looks like a giant bottle opener. Google it, it really does. We saw the apple sign and headed in the right direction, and into the mall which we were sure it was in, as that's where the sign was... Half an hour of searching thru an almost empty mall, getting directions from several people we realised that the apple sign we had seen originally was actually the entrance to the store!! Duh. So headed down there and had a quick look, purchased an adapter and cabbed it back in time for lunch, then to catch the bus to the field to shoot..yes the thing we are actually here for. Oh, by this time we were caught in a heavy shower and were soaked, and anticipating the rain for the afternoon. Fortunately it didn't happen.
Target order, steph is on 4, Anne on 5, me on 6. Anne and I have an Ozzie with us, so a bit of banter is sure to be had, actually has been already on my target. We shot the afternoon away, it was hot and sticky, and quite draining, but I was happy with the way my practise went. The showers rock in the hotel. Looking forward to the ranking round tomorrow afternoon!
Wonder what's for dinner.. :0|
