Individual Eliminations Day

Well, that has now been and gone.

Spent the morning sleeping in, and headed to the grounds for warm up and Individual Eliminations. I was up against Sabrine from France, and I didnt get nervous until it was time to shoot for real. The wind was all over the place, one arrow to the left, one to the right, and the flags were going around in circles. It was really humid too and it made it tough going.  Sabrine won the first set, and I took the second. Its the first time in a World Cup individual that I have taken a set, so I was pleased about that, I shot 3/3 hits.  Then she upped the ante and probably took my ante as well, as she nailed the rest of the sets easily. I lost in the first round. It was tough.

The guys went thru to the next round, the girls out in the first, and then Shaun made it thru to the 1/8 eliminations, taking the sets to shoot offs each time. No pressure!

We have the Teams eliminations tomorrow afternoon (approx 8-9am NZ time) and we are up against USA for a spot at the gold medal match (there are only 4 womens teams). The guys are up against El Salvador. Lets see what tomorrow brings.
