All over rover
I was up against Nichola Simpson in the first elimination round. I was looking forward to it because I know how well Nichola shoots, and for me there was always goign to be an uphill battle, but I had nothing to lose. We are shooting on the 50m hit miss targets which are ok, I dont mind them, but when you get the wind element coming into play, it kinda throws all sorts of other challenges. So, windy it was, and the first end I managed to draw 1-1 with Nichola. I was happy with that, but then she cranked it up a notch and I couldnt do the same. I was hitting only 1 hit per end, when I (leading up to this) was hitting 2 or 3 every end. So, you dont win with 1 hit, and Nichola went thru to the next round.
That was my day over, and my tournament. I am disappointed, but I know I needed to rank better to start with to help me in the matchplay. Steph and Shaun did great in the mixed teams event, they beat Great Britain and came down to a tie with no 1 ranked USA whom beat us by 1 hit, so it was a good result for them.
