Croatia - Leading up to Tournament

The hotel is...I guess ok, it has taken a bit to get used to! We cannot have internet access in our rooms, and have to pay 3Euro per hour for it, while we sit in the lobby. The other hotel has free internet so we wander over there when we have some time spare and use theirs. The rooms are small, there is no fridge, and my phone works intermittently here. Its weird having so much hassle getting technology, but thats life.
We went to Porec town yesterday after practise and had a look around. Its a quaint town, and would have been nice to spend some time in. We took the boat around the bays to the town, it was great to be out on the water, and then it started raining while we took in the sights. We went to an old church and that was pretty impressive. Its nice to be able to wander around without people hassling you to buy things. We got a cab back to the hotel, and really didnt do a lot else. Caught up with the other teams arriving.

Practise ground and tournament grounds are next to each other and within walking distance to the hotel, approx 20 mins walk. We have been arriving there before any other team so its great, except this morning we got caught in the cold and the wet, and then the wind started up. We shot for a couple of hours until there was a lot more people then headed back to the hotel for lunch. Headed over to the other hotel (We are spread around 3 hotels apparently) and had a coffee with the Croatian team, came back and went back to the grounds for more practise. The weather had changed, the wind was strong, but the sun was out. The grounds are packed with archers so space on the line is at a premium. There are 67 in Compound Women division and the Mens compound approx 103. Thats only the compound side, in recurve there are even more.

After shooting we came back and had a swim in the indoor pool (its a salt water pool and full of europeans!!!) then dinner. We went back to the practise grounds tonight to find Stephs 2 missing arrows. We managed to find one of them before it got too dark to look for them. The best bit about today was that Ivana from Croatia gave me her Croatian team jacket, its really cool, and I was stoked with that!

Thats pretty much what has happened up to date. Its been tiring, sleeping hasnt been great and we are really just waiting to get into it now. Official practise starts tomorrow at 2pm for us, so it will be a lie in tomorrow, and we can then kick this tournament off. Yay.
