India Day 2
Got up early and had breakfast which was toast and out of date jam, and so I grabbed some grilled tomatoes too. I have had paneer (cottage cheese) at every other meal, very odd but its interesting to try it in all different types of dishes. Some are really hot. We waited in the lobby for the buses to arrive to take us to the stadium, and we are sitting there, and then were told that due to security issuee, we wont be leaving until after lunch. They advised us what it was, it wasnt serious but they have to be cautious. So, we are leaving in 25 mins to go there. In the meantime we thought we might go have a look at some shops outside of the hotel. No, sorry not allowed. I asked a delegate then if he could find me a soccer ball so I could at least do something within the boundaries of the hotel, and he was advised that it wasnt an option either! I sat and read the paper - sort of, see the pics in the gallery there is a whole section on Grooms Wanted, and Brides Wanted. It was pretty amazing to see all these people marrying off their siblings. Stated their preferences, how they look and whether caste and religion were important. Fascinating.
Headed to the one only shop in the Hotel which sells Pashminas, Sarees, and so on, and bartered for a couple of items, that kept me out of trouble for 30 mins. We are finding it tough to just wait, patience is required and we are all so keen to get out there and get some shooting in. Its really hot out in the open air, the hotel is air conditioned, so its not too bad here. Looking forward to just getting to the grounds which are 45 mins away.
--- Hours later.
Finally we got to the stadium and then we couldnt get in!! No accreditation. 2 hours later, we were allowed in, and managed to shoot which was just great. What we had been waiting for. Will fill you in on more later on.
