Practise day - 31st Aug

The wind is relentless

The practise grounds that we are using are the ones they used for the spanish team in the 2002 FIFA world cup football event. We are on a decent sized field, fits about 25 targets on it. Up above us on the hill is a pristine looking football field with a korean guy riding around on his lawnmover going over the same patch of grass half a dozen times.  I grabbed my football that i purchased from homeplus at lunchtime & went up there to play this afternoon, and was promptly told to get off the grass, and the guard would come up every 1 ins and watch to see we werent on it.

Shooting this morning was good, the wind hasnt stopped at all, which is quite nice in some respects because we are learing to deal with it. I shot 50 and 70m and then we had some teams matchplay practise. We have a set amount of time to shoot and when it is windy its a case of just get that arrow onto the target as opposed to get the gold! It will really open up the competition I think.

We went to an Eve Festival tonight, it was full of dancing and speeches and glow sticks and fireworks and famous Korean performers. I will post up the pictures soon. They had a ska band called Kingston Rudieska which were great, I've never seen a korean with dreads.  Then some opera but we had to get the bus back so missed the rest, but it was pretty neat, they'd put a lot of time and effort into it.

It makes you realise this is a big big thing.
