China Day 3
Today we were on the way to the stadium for some more practise, and along the way we passed lots of people biking and walking alongside us. One man in particular stands out. He must have been in his 60's and was cycling along beside us. He had a rickety bike and on the back of the bike he was carrying a full on 32" television carefully balanced on the back, and on top he had a keyboard and mouse tied up with bailing twine. It was probably nothing unusual for the chinese population but for me it was a double take!
The humidity was well over 65% inside the stadium today and about 27 degrees. It makes shooting interesting, your clothes are stuck to you, and release aid is sticky in your hands, so I am hoping I have lost a bit of last nights fondue today haha. Took it easy with shooting, focussed on getting the sight marks right for each distance and shot 88 arrows overall. Headed back for lunch and had a relaxing afternoon the heat really drains you.
This afternoon we got the hotel guys to take us up to the 37th floor, 2 down from the very top to get a view of the city. See the pix in the gallery it sure is high up and looks incredible. Shanghai sprawls for miles and we got them to take us up again tonight for the night pictures. The windows are huge and I dont like heights so it was a bit of a challenge, but well worth it.
At dinner tonight Shaun & I had a bet that I could stay away from the Chocolate Fondue until my shooting was over. We bet 10 Yuan ($2.50) and I am well up for that challenge. Once we had agreed the terms, Shaun went to the fondue and filled his glass with chocolate & drunk it down to the disbelief of Rebecca the waitress. Pix will follow!
Tomorrow is official opening and official practise, so am looking forward to really getting stuck in.
